::: STUPIED ::: This was the dumbest thing I've done in my LIFE!
Today I did the most stupidest thing EVER. I don't know how I managed to do it but I did it, and man do I feel GUILTY. I mean there was no deference for me today. I MESSED UP bad. And after 6 years of driving I thought I would be done with making mistakes and blunders. But today proved different. I nearly hit a person while backing out of a parking spot. It was an old man the reason why he wasn't hurt was because a man yelled out to me to tell me to stop. I got yelled at by the man who yelled out. I felt sooo stupid. Like a teenager. The guy words were strong and clear. "What's wrong with you? You JUST hit a PERSON. That could have been a kid! You need to look behind you when you back out. And you drive slowly in a parking lot, you don't pull out fast like that..." he went on and on. I could tell that he thought I was a teenager I might well be one for being that unaware of my surroundings. What I just don't get is why I didn't look behind? I mean I do it every other time I back out... why not today? I'm just so man. The Old Man also yelled at me too. pretty much saying the same things the other guy was saying. He told me "to remember this incident for the rest of my life..."
After the two people left I pretty turned off the engine in my car and sat there for a long while kicking myself. I mean everything happened so quickly. And it made me really want to hurt myself. Because I'm an adult and I was given my drivers license because they saw me competent enough to drive a car. And here i go driving around and not paying attention when I should.
I just hope I don't repeat that moment ever again....

The good thing is that the man is alright and that there was someone watching out for him. Even though you got yelled at, it would be nice to thank God (or whomever or whatever you believe in) that it hadn't been worse.
And I can tell you from experience that even if you are the greatest driver in the world, sooner or later, you can and will make mistakes. I've done the same and when something happens to me, I remember it and watch what I do after wards.
The older gent is right though, I bet you will remember that incident and make sure it never happens again. Don't come down on yourself too much, just consider it a very important learning experience.
